Jo Brown, "Beginning," (© 2013) 12" x 16.5" paper and mixed media on wood draws from the random detritus at the water's edge, microscopic imagery, and the fables of Italo Calvino in a playful abstract take on origins. Using aged folded and cut paper, yarn, and tape in a palette of yellow, tan, black and pale green, the construction evokes both biology and comedy.
